ATLANTA, 27th October 2015 – ‘Freshness from Europe’ is a new project aimed at promoting the consumption of fruit and its export to the US, Canada, United Arab Emirates, China and Japan, made its US debut at PMA Fresh Summit in Atlanta.

The three-year project, jointly-funded by the EU, Government of Italy and leading Italian fresh produce organization CSO, kicked off just three months ago and will run until July 2018.

Among the first initiatives to be organized by Freshness from Europe was attendance at PMA 2015, an event of enormous interest to the stakeholders involved in the project, especially when it comes to the export of apples, pears and kiwifruit to the US.

The Freshness booth met the approval of industry professionals and the media, in light of the fact that this European initiative is promoting values such as quality, traceability and the guaranteed origins of products.

This system of production, supported by the European authorities, and unique in the world in terms of certifying quality and provenance, is also to be found in Italy, where it is right at home thanks to the country’s time-honored agricultural heritage and culture.

The following companies participated at PMA Fresh Summit under the Freshness from Europe banner: Alegra, Apofruit, From, Made in Blu, Origine Group and King Fruit.
